Lyoko Monstercons

In order to further upgrade his troops, Mantichrome made extensive study on Cybertronian sparks. After much research, he managed to create a Spark Program, the digital equivilant of a Cybertronian spark. He intended on using it for a new Kolossus, but the Lyoko Warriors managed to encrypt XANA's files for the Kolossus. Since the Spark Program was too large for a smaller monster to use, Mantichrome split it between four of his Chimera monsters, giving them sentience and the ability to transform into robot modes.

The Monstercons resembled their normal counterpart in their monster modes, with the exception that their Eye of XANA is a notable purple in color. They somewhat exist to replace William as generals for XANA's monsters, being able to command monsters under their specific command. They have a sort of immortality that mirrors how the Lyoko Warriors can't be directly killed in Lyoko. While their bodies can be destroyed, their heads/spark containers remain and they are able to commandeer a nearby monster under their command to make a new body. But if there are no available bodies, they are sent back into the Digital Sea back to Mantichrome's lair.

Since the original Spark Program was split among them, each Monstercon's personality is based on one part of its programming.

Name: Leafstripper (top left)
Monster Mode: Locust
Command: Locusts, Kankrelats, Hornets
Motto: "Retreat is always an option."
Description: Leafstripper received the Evasive portion of the original Spark Program and is therefore the wimpiest of the group. However, he is by far the best when it comes to espionage and is often sent out as a scout. Therefore, he's eager to please Mantichrome to get more respect. His personality can be seen as a mixture between Beast Wars Waspinator and Inferno.

Name: Whipsting (top right)
Monster Mode: Wadjet
Command: Wadjets, Creepers, Mantas
Motto: "Hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast!"
Description: Whipsting received the Offensive portion of the original Spark program and is therefore the most aggresive of the group. He is completely incapable of keeping still so he is useless for espionage. The instant he sees an enemy, he divebombs them with both his missile attacks and his wise cracks. His personality can be seen as a mixture between Beast Wars Quickstrike and Beast Machines Jetstorm.

Name: Deathgrip (bottom left)
Monster Mode: Crawdad
Command: Crawdad, Krabes, Tarantulas
Motto: "Execute with precision."
Description: Deathgrip received the Calculative portion of the original Spark Program and is therefore the smartest of the group. He serves as the leader and plans the Monstercons' attacks with military precision. However, that does not mean he's afraid to get his own claws dirty. His personality can be seen as a mixture between Beast Machines Thrust and Obsidian.

Name: Roughshell (bottom right)
Monster Mode: Xiphosura
Command: Xiphosuras, Bloks, Megatanks
Motto: "Never give up ground, only take it."
Description: Roughshell received the Defensive portion of the original Spark Program and is therefore the thickest of the group. He may be an unbreakable wall of a monster, but he's barely more intelligent than the monsters he commands. However, his loyalty to Mantichrome is as unwavering as his aim. His personality can be seen as a mixture between Beast Wars Scorponok and Beast Machines Tankor.

Note: To get a better idea of what size they are (and therefore their monster modes' sizes) Leafstripper is half a foot taller than William. Also, Roughshell is further back in the background is taller than he appears. The top of his shell is easily four feet higher than the top of Deathgrip's head.
